It's Not About the Score
Don't get us wrong—we care about the winners…but to us, that means the people who will benefit by the charities we support. The VCI charity golf event honors George Nisbet, a long-time VCI employee and friend who died of lung cancer. His family formed the George C. Nisbet Foundation to promote research and treatment for lung-related diseases. Last year, the golf outing raised more than $26,000 that we distributed to three charities:
We thank the more than 30 sponsors and dozens of VCI employees who donated cash and prizes last year. Nearly 130 golfers and a dozen volunteers participated last year in the scramble-format tournament at the Bonnie Brook Golf Club in Waukegan. (All photos on this site, unless otherwise noted, were provided by Bonnie Brook.) We're returning to Bonnie Brook on Friday, Sept. 7 this year, and we hope you will join us.
In addition to the chance to win a Bentley, all golfers in the 2006 charity golf event had a shot at a new Audi S-4, Volkswagen Passat, and a Volkswagen Beetle convertible—bringing the value of all vehicles available that day to more than $250,000. This year, we plan on offering three chances to win two VWs and an Audi on regular Par 3 holes. We hope that you can join us as a sponsor, a golfer, or both!
